Alan and Jacqueline offer a beautiful one bedroom gîte with exclusive use of the pool, and a private terrace. It is the only gîte on the premises, so no competetion for the pool!
Surrounded by sunflower fields, plum orchards and vineyards, guests can enjoy the peace and tranquility of a small hamlet close to all amenities including superb restaurants, supermarkets, and lively outdoor markets, some of which, like nearby Monflanquin, have been in existence on the same day of the week for about 800 years.
It is an ideal place for reflection, and has been used by writers and others who value a noise-free environment, or just relaxing by the pool. The gîte has its own south-facing terrace where there is a gas barbecue. We hope you will feel refreshed at the end of your stay.
As well as a dining /kitchen area, there is a comfortable lounge with TV, a library and a DVD collection, and a folder with information on interesting places to visit etc.
This is an area steeped in the history of both France and England and the centuries of conflict which led to the building of the surrounding Bastide towns, most within a half-hour or so. It is also an area ideally situated for walking, horse riding, canoeing, golf, wine tasting and enjoying great food - a speciality of the area is duck and foie gras.
Sample fine local inexpensive dishes in nearby bar/restaurants or in the surrounding Bastide towns at their weekly night markets. Each on a different day of the week, it is possible to visit one every night of the week! For that special occasion there is also a Michelin starred restaurant just a 20 minute drive away. Or simply enjoy your own home barbecue under a spectacular pollution-free night sky.
